Thistle

The thistle is blooming across the prairie and fields, most of which is Canadian Thistle. However, this thistle, while still spiky, has a different growth and flower. I believe it is milk thistle, but, whatever variety it is, it is loved by bees, spiders, and I find it much more aesthestically pleasing than it's Canadian Thistle relative.
Gorgeous vibrant color and I love how he's dusted with pollen. I wonder if he has to stop now and then to sneeze.

@kdneal @fivealive @sbolden Thank you. These flower heads are quite feathery and the bees literally burrow their way around and through the petals picking up pollen. Hence his dusting of yellow specks.

That is gorgeous. I love that he is "diving" right in. Beautiful shot. That 100mm lens is pretty fantastic.
