Granddaughter visited today, and I can see now why her mother likes to keep her hair tied back. She doesn't seem a bit bothered by that curtain in front of her face, though.
Absolutely charming and very meaningful portrait . I think her hair looks more like a veil than a curtain and it seems to me to be suggesting that the innocence of childhood should be protected. Lovely expression on the little girl's face too. Fav.
