So few and so fast! My yard is bereft of birds and eerily quiet. The smokey skies have impacted fall migration and is contributing to a mass mortality rate. This year just gets more dire by the day.
Oh gosh that's so sad and terrible. Lovely photo

I've been reading about this horrific tragedy and it's breaking my heart. I hope this little one featured in your picture escapes the carnage, as I hope for the Swallows that live at my house in the summer and leave for the winter. I'll be anxiously awaiting next spring's return migration and hoping my 4 families have all survived.

Yes, it gets worse by the day. Hopefully we have hit bottom and are going to move up soon. Beautiful shot.

It is truly heartbreaking to know of all the wildlife loss, it's hard to bear it some days. But so nice to see some shining through regardless--nice capture!

For your get-pushed challenge would you be up for experimenting with portrait lighting? Try this exercise from DPS: https://digital-photography-school.com/6-portrait-lighting-patterns-every-photographer-should-know/
This task will require a willing subject, or you can substitute a toy. I can assign you something completely different if this challenge doesn't work for you.
