red breasted nuthatch

It was windy along the creek, but youngest found a lovely sheltered area where chickadees and nuthatches were flitting between the tall pine trees climbing the cliffs and the ash trees along the creek bottom. Their favorite tree sat in a bend of the creek with branches dipping into the water giving them easy access for drinking. I haven't seen a nuthatch in years. Fast little birds!
