On our Sunday drive, we pulled over at an intersection way out in the country to check a map to see which direction we might turn. As we were checking our GPS, we noticed a good deal of activity on the hill of dried up thistle just beside our car. Turns out there were hundreds of these American Goldfinches flitting in and about getting the seed from the pods. They were actually very well camouflaged, but wow! We had never seen them in such huge numbers, what a treat!
