From the Richmond Times-Dispatch: Sunny skies and warm weather greeted runners for the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure this morning at Brown’s Island to raise money for the fight against breast cancer.
This year over 9,500 participants registered and are expected to raise over $800,000 to support cancer research and grants.
Our school fielded a team of about 200 and a group of us gathered early to car pool downtown.
This is always an emotionally uplifting event as we walk or run in honor of friends and family who have been touched by breast cancer.
Congratulations on running for such a great cause and on a lovely collage of the event. We have a similar thing in uk - called Race for Life here - I've done it several years and your photo making me think I want to sign up for this year now
I ran this race! You captured the day perfectly. I wish I had a camera to take photos of the day, but it wouldn't have been an easy feat to carry the camera while running!
