The last Lower School meeting of the school year. This is where announcements are made and awards are given. I took this picture with my iPad and then gave it a slight 1960s treatment in Picnik. You can see the students are all spellbound by kindergarten teacher and resident troubadour, Robbie Turner. Mr. Turner is teaching them the chorus to a song he wrote in tribute to a fellow teacher retiring after 41 years. The kids all got into it, clapping and singing and waving their arms. For the faculty it was a poignant moment as we contemplated a school year without Mrs. Hotchkiss and acknowledged in our hearts how much she has meant to us all.
I think I want to go to your school! All around a great capture- a troubador, a fantastic teacher, engaged students- A plus! By the way, are those some of your pictures on the wall?
@olivetreeann Thanks for the compliment. The photos on the wall were added last year to humanize this big space. I don't know who actually took the pictures.
Awwww, that's so nice that Robby did that for Betty!! It must be sad to think of all that she has done and that she won't be returning next year. On the other hand, she deserves some time for herself and family!!!
