The only thing better than local corn you eat right after you pull off the husks, is corn from your own garden. When I was a kid we would eat it right off the stalk. So young and tender you didn't even have to cook it.
Love the close-up of a summer staple around here. Sadly three years ago, I developed some issues with corn and had to remove it from my diet- so I can't eat it as much as I used to. Thankfully since I've pretty much removed it from everything I eat, I have found that I can now have fresh corn on the cob once or twice in the summer. It's sooooo good! Great shot- love the details on the kernels.
Looks so good...I bought some yesterday myself...surprised to hear you ate corn right from the field...didn't know you grew up in such a rural area of CT.
@hwy61 Actually before we lived in rural CT, we lived in rural NY state, just over the state line. In fact you could straddle the actually state line at the end of our driveway. We lived in a converted coach house on a big estate and had a large garden.
I'm not a big fan of corn on the cob......very fiddly to eat !
