I hope you think this is as funny as I do. Ellen and I were back in the garden this afternoon to release the second Monarch butterfly. This time I thought I would outsmart the flighty butterfly and video his escape. When the time came, the bright sun made tracking his flight impossible, and I was sure I had missed the whole thing. Only when I returned to the library to replay the video did I see his headlong take-off was captured for posterity. To quote the title of a popular picture book in our library, "Gotta Go, Gotta Go, Gotta Go to Mexico!" Now we await the debut of the 2 swallowtails sleeping in their chrysalis in the science lab.
