We held a little celebration in the library in honor of Susan's birthday. She is holding and wearing her gifts. Our dear friend, and former colleague, Barbara on the right dropped in to join the merriment. (Question: Have you ever read "librarians" and "merriment" in the same sentence?)
Susan is still waiting for her most highly anticipated gift -- her first grandchild, due any moment!
And Librarians are always fun... you just have to know how to make 'em laugh! I remember meeting on man - Chad - when I went to my local library. He was hot... well to me... and once I left high school and went to work, we lost touch. Then, around 20 years later, I dropped into my local library, and there he was, still working at the place. He's lost all his hair, put on some weight and was about to retire to get married; and was almost 40! He recognised me from my hair (bright red... nobody forgets us redheads. :D ). Anyway, he asked how things were and we caught up over about an hour... it was cool that he remembered I was a writer; but stunned that I was also an artist. :D
What a lovely moment to share! (Happy Birthday, Susan! What a perfect gift a 1st grandbaby will be!) That a wonderful, keepsake image of your four friends! I dropped in on a most appropriate image to share the following with you http://365project.org/chicago_heather/365/2014-05-19
My daughter, Heather, rejoined 365 and has a 2-y-o son who is obsessed with his books. You can see they encourage that!
