Making Connections

Collegiate has a strong network of partner schools around the world. Each of these partner schools sends a group to participate in our International Emerging Leaders Conference – bringing students from China, India, Mexico, Spain, South Africa, Italy, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Morocco and several other nations to our campus every year.
The annual International Emerging Leaders Conference takes place in October each year. The conference focuses on The Global Economy and the Environment, and students from around the world gather to work collaboratively, hear from prominent scholars and business leaders on this topic, and design innovative solutions. The conference also includes programs designed to help delegates share and learn about each other’s culture and traditions, and share with students throughout the Collegiate community.
On Friday the visitors and their hosts came to the Lower School to share their perspectives, visiting in individual classrooms to answer questions and tell their stories. I snapped this picture while the visitors chatted with our youngest students in the whole-school assembly. To me, this is the best part of this international gathering: face-to-face, up close and personal. You can see how absorbed our kindergartners are in this unique experience. We like to imagine that they will be the next generation of International Emerging Leaders.
What a wonderful experience for all of the children involved!
