Special Olympics Virginia athletes train, compete and succeed in nearly 2,000 area and regional competitions in 22 sports each year. One competition is held at Collegiate every Spring. Members of our school serve as hosts for the athletes, and the students are encouraged to watch and cheer for the various events held throughout the morning. I didn't have a break til lunchtime so when i got to the track, the program was wrapping up. I did get a few pictures, and i especially liked this one of teammates comparing notes on their accomplishments.
Glad you captured a shot of the Special Olympics. I never even had a minute to get out there on Friday. Such a wonderful event for our students to help out with!
Congratulations to all the athletes! I know how hard they work to participate. Even though you can't fully see the faces here, you know they're pleased with their accomplishments. I like how you did it in b&w. What a great idea. I don't think I would have thought of that.
