Italian Puppets by allie912

Italian Puppets

The tradition of puppetry in Italy goes back to the 16th century, so this 4th grade class incorporated puppets in their study of Italian culture. They created their own figures (Did you know that the word "puppet" derives from the Latin "pupus", which means "little child"?) and adapted several traditional folktales to create a program of entertaining shows for their parents and their classmates. Bravissimo!
I did not know that. You are such a great source of information. Great photos.

Puppets, nice :-) Like how this is being brought in to the cultural lessons, it's a great way of expressing themselves for kids, putting puppets up in play. Lovely collage Allison!
