The crepe myrtle trees this summer are really outdoing themselves. Here you see a few in the median of one of Richmond's most famous streets, Monument Avenue. The name derives from the statues of Civil War heroes that are placed along the center of the avenue. I find the flowering trees to be more appealing, but then I'm a D*** Yankee!
