For the first time in a week, the clouds parted to show blue sky. I've just been reading about the summer of 1816 when, due to volcanic eruptions, there was no summer in the northern hemisphere. In Pennsylvania the skies were overcast and dark for all of June, July, and August. And I thought a week was bad!
BTW, the source of this fascinating weather trivia is Elizabeth Gilbert's new book, "The Signature of All Things" I highly recommend it.
What a beautiful "azure" sky. I've been enjoying it for the last couple of days. all the other colors will brighten up as well as if they were just waiting for the sky to clear. great picture, Allison.
