Romance was in the air as kindergartners celebrated the joining of the letters Q and U. What started as a small classroom activity planned by the reading teacher, snowballed into a grade level-wide celebration complete with music and, best of all, cake! The bride and groom were parents of a kindergartner who happened to have their tenth anniversary today. They good naturedly offered to participate so the teachers wouldn't have to make the difficult decision of choosing from the students. Meanwhile all the students dressed as either "queens" or "quarterbacks." I feel sure they will never forget this phonics lesson! If you want to see the actual ceremony, complete with vows written and performed by kindergarten teacher Mr. Turner, click here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOmWGS7mngI&feature=youtu.be
I guarantee it will brighten your day.
