At 1:10 this afternoon there was a thunderous boom somewhere outside, and the entire school lost power. It turned out to be a transformer exploding. The power company sent repair crews out, but it was determined it would take 4 hours to fix the problem. School remained in session but of course the computers were all down. I am happy to say I had 2 classes in the library this afternoon, and I was able to read some great stories to them. No power required!
Very cool, Allison. We consider lack of electricity a low-level office emergency. There's really very little to do without those computers working! So glad that -- of course-- you didn't have to send kids home!
