Sometimes you can custom order a new car and get just the special items you want, but when you buy a car from the showroom floor, you pay for whatever is already loaded on. Case in point: This little "rear spoiler" attached to the back roof. According to Wikipedia "the most common spoiler functions include disrupting some type of airflow passing over and around a moving vehicle. A common spoiler diffuses air by increasing amounts of turbulence flowing over the shape, "spoiling" the laminar flow and providing a cushion for the laminar boundary layer." In other words, it is supposed to make a vehicle more aerodynamic, or at least give that impression. John and I certainly didn't have this feature on our wish list, and at the price of $395 we would certainly have left it off if given that option. Nothing we could do about it so we'll just enjoy the features we do appreciate.
When we were vehicle shopping there were some things we wanted, but some of them came in expensive packages, and some features were out of this world expensive like the auto start, "No thank you the key will work just fine."
Very interesting, Allison. I'm glad you included the "in other words..." because Wikipedia lost me :-) I suppose it might help get better mileage, but i guess that remains to be seen.
