I met up with my friend, science teacher Ellen, as she took a class of First Graders out to observe this massive sycamore tree on the front lawn of the school. She points out the way the bark peels off and the fact that the leaves change colors gradually. They enthusiastically posed for me on the circular bench built around the trunk of this old tree. What a lovely moment I captured in the lives of these 6 year olds.
