The Promise of Spring

Both my pictures today are a result of lurking around the office of the Assistant Head of the Lower School when she was out. These paper whites have come into full bloom within the last few days. Originally they were on her desk, but today the pot was outside her door. The flowers give off such a powerful smell that they probably couldn't be kept in an enclosed space. The flowers, however, are a delightful promise that at the darkest time of year, there is still the expectation of Spring.

I was almost going to buy one today. glad I did not if the smell is so strong. my nose is very sensitive. but I do like them and also the way you framed them.
