Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous. I think that autumn is a tiny bit past it's prime, but still going pretty strong. We don't have much time left, though, to enjoy it's glory. Probably in a week or two all our trees will be bare for the next 5 months.
Clara and I set out for a quick hike with the dog and then I stopped to photograph a few trees that I'd been admiring over the last week.
I think it was here that I lost the knife that Mike had asked me to take in case I needed it while hiking. It must have fallen while I was running in the leaves to get the shot and the soft ground muffled the fall. Later he and Clara rode their bikes back...maybe 7.5 miles round trip to see if they could find it. No knife, but Clara rocked the ride. She's normally not so tough so that was pretty awesome!
