Circumstances are odd. I parked somewhere new in Coniston, it was by the mountain rescue building. As I was leaving a landrover parked outside, and I thought I could see activity in the yard behind. I wondered. I drove to Tilberthwaite for my lunch. And then the landrover drove up - it was already too much of a coincidence - and then more cars drove in behind. They all got out, having left their day jobs, and, carrying careful rucksacks of equipment, calmly, with no fuss, set off.
