went on a very familiar walk today so I could do a lot more phone photo testing.
It seems that in reasonable light, I can get perfectly acceptable landscapes - which is what I have already seen from other people on here anyway.
When it becomes problematical is macros, and when I change the setting when the metering/ white balance is not OK. I'm not really producing good results - and then I forget to take the setting off, so my next few pictures are a nonsense!!
Beautiful, Annie-Sue! My cell phone isn't an iPhone and doesn't take the quality photo you captured here. I'm sure you'll master those macro shots as you continue to practice!
Nothing wrong with this one at all it is beautiful. I don't use any settings on my Samsung. I just leave it on auto and it seems to take reasonable photos
Lovely scene and shot. I have a cheap Samsung and the phone photos in certain situations are often better than my big camera. But I too have a lot to learn about using my phone for photography and don't get anywhere near the quality of my daughter's pics for example, or narayani's pics.
Beautifully composed. I hate using my iPhone for photos. It is fine on landscape or portrait but rubbish at macro or any kind of closer work. Hope you work out all the Samsung nooks and crannies!
@seacreature yes, phone shots can definitely be on a par with camera shots - or better (when I've been with friends and we've posted photos after, I've sometimes been embarrassed by my camera shots!)

I've done Macro at Sizergh today and am generally disappointed. The colour is/can be better - but what use is that if the focus is off [or possibly depth of field so shallow that it appears the focus is off]
