A very primitive rendition (read grandma Moses) of a recent challenge for this group BUT done entirely with the knife. Monika mentioned watercolors would be difficult to do with a knife and that was all the challenge l needed. It is far from what others painted in quality but I had fun doing it (an often quoted requirement) and I am OK wth the results. I actually used three different knives and my watercolors come in a tube which made this easier to accomplish.
watercolours come in tubes? really? hmmm must find me some. i am so afraid to use the watercolour set i have because they're like the watercolours i used to have in grade school and madam art teacher was never kind to me and my watercolour paintings, which were atrocious even according to my own father! 🤣
this has a feel of ancient mystery, like those old castle walls coming to life - i can smell the mustiness and feel the dampness in the air. props for doing this with the knives! aces!
Reveal yourself!
This is so clever. I struggle with a paintbrush and perish the thought of wielding knife albeit a palatte knife.
Your have managed the perspective especially on the right hand wall.
@summerfield working on them as we speak! Thank you for your kind words @wakelys Susan I am so sorry I forgot to say who I was. Thanks for your kind comments
@wakelys - ditto with the palette knife. every time i use one it always would slip off my fingers, fly in the air and land on the parquet floor and (murphy's law is that it's loaded with lots of paint) splatter all over i have to clean them up tout de suite before they dry up and i'd be completely pissed! 😜 so far, i've only managed to do that with white paint so it's easier to see.
@grammyn this is AMAZING!!! you did that with palette knife?!?!?! I love this so much!!!!
I coukdn't have said it better than Susan @wakelys . Thank you Susan!
You should really try this more often if you like the technique. I tried this three times, and from all my three tries i prefer this one. This is really great!
@monikozi wow! That’s high praise coming from you! I am happy you like it and I thank you for the push. I’m thinking I may try it again but I’m not sure which Picture to try it on. It works better on straight lines than round ones. @kjarn I am really glad you think so Kathy thank you so much. @30pics4jackiesdiamond I have used one before with oils which is a little bit easier because they hold their shape better than these watercolors did but I made it work. Thank you so much for all that support!

now, @grammyn, do the umbrella!
