The more I see of others the more I realize what an amateur I am but I am still keeping at it. I will never be a great artist but I enjoy the process. This is an original from a photo I took on the 24th of january if you care to look. Sorry I can't figure out how to post the link
I like the negative effect. There's nice depth in the picture. @grammyn
I totally agree with Casablanca - as long as you are enjoying yourself and having fun that is all that matters
@grammyn
First of all: you sure pick up some challenging references... :)
Then: Do you WANT to make a living from art or do you want to enjoy yourself?
Then: Being an amateur is so secure.
Then: You did a darn good job with the depth of those tools. Their mid part simply pops out from the paper.
Good job!
Keep on practicing. It's the practice that adds up. Like in being fit: you can't stay fit if you don't exercise.
Whats wrong with being an amateur? have you seen some of the crap professionals put out there??!! I think this is lovely, a great monotone and depth. @grammyn you;ve done more art than I have this year!!
@casablanca I do enjoy it so thanks for that encouragement @wakelys I am so glad you think so thanks @salza thanks so much for that positive comment @monikozi thank you as always for the constructive and encouraging comments. In the back of my head, l keep your advice about practice, every time I paint @30pics4jackiesdiamond I really have no desire to be a professional but would like to paint more like one at times. Thanks for always supporting my efforts @jacqbb now that rally makes me feel good about it @summerfield LOL! point taken thanks bunches @randystreat that means a lot to me @kjarn thanks Sometimes I lose sight of that
