The Disgrace of Edinburgh.

This was to be built as a monument to commemorate the many Scots who had lost their lives in long wars with the French. It was to be built as a replica of the Parthenon and building began in 1822. However, it soon ran out of money….. hence the the Disgrace of Edinburgh!
It's really a shame that it's not finished! Thank you for describing the story
