The ‘blocks’, St Monans.

I received a message from a friend saying that he was planning to be here a bit before sunrise. Would I like to join him? Couldn’t refuse!
I love the zig zag

An interesting place to enjoy the sunset! I'm intrigued by the zig zag - I wonder why it was built that way?

@fishers The zigzag pier was built to protect the actual harbour walls. Many a person has visited the harbour and seen no sign of the zigzag pier. To find it you have to climb a ladder and look over the harbour wall…… but be very careful, many a strong wind has brought waves crashing over the wall!!

@billdavidson

Fascinating. I suppose the shape helps break up the waves as it protects the harbour walls.
