Transformed

Today I found this building during a walk. This is a church building transformed into apartments.

Many subusrbs of Melbourne have caveats on development. Some of these are heritage based. In some instances the facia of the original building is kept with any modern decvelopment behind the original. Sometimes this approach works better than others. This one seems to work for me.

What fabulous use of an old church, with the magnificent stonework, works so well. fav!

Our village with a population now of approximately 3,000 has 16 churches, over a half now converted to private homes, one in particular in the centre of the village being demolished leaving only the facade standing.
