@linnypinny@farmreporter It was quite an experience. First, the throngs of people visiting the Vatican is overwhelming. It is quite a process to register and gain access. The Pope speaks at times from one of the windows in the building in the background. What struck me was the incredible opulence of the building. There are priceless artworks at every glance. The Cistene chapel is beyond words, photographing the ceiling is prohibited. The best way to tour is to sign up with a guide as we did. Everyone is given a headset and the guide speaks through it to describe things. Rome itself is truly a living museum. As an aside, one must be very careful with camera gear there. It is best to try to blend in with one's dress and keep a camera bag very low profile with minimal gear. A backpack is like a come and steal from me beacon especially if you are wearing Nikes! @linnypinny The most impressive visit for me was the Pantheon.
A majestic site for sure!
