It was a beautiful sunny day today so we took a drive out to Stevington. On the way we passed Chellington not far from Bedford. This lovely 12th century church of St Nicholas was renovated and transformed in 2005 to provide a residential day centre for retreats, school groups and a place to access local attractions. I liked the shadow of the tree on the church in this photo. We've had a busy time recently with our daughter and family living with us for three weeks. Happily for all they were able to move into their new house this weekend. A mammoth job as they moved all the furniture themselves. I just held the fort and looked after Henry! Our house still looks like a bomb hit it and so of course does theirs! But it's a happy occasion for them to move into a home together at last.
We had a lovely old church with high trees alongside and I photographed the shadows. Then they cut them all down and it looks naked! Glad this church is still being used. Good for you for having bedlam in our house for that time!
So glad your family has moved safely into their new home....they must be tremendously excited! Good to all find your own places again.......we all need our own space. You will miss little Henry!
Lovely warm stone8 the sun shining on the stone work ...so warm & mellow!
Nice shot of this old church & good to know the building is being put to good use...... pleased to hear your daughter has been able to move into their own home too
This is great - I don't get out into north Beds very often, even though it's only a shortish drive for me. I know some of the villages out that way are really nice, so I must make more of an effort!
