We are expecting a front to move in tonight. So a change of weather will not miss this maple from wind and cold, as has happen so far this winter, okay late fall. The eastern maple has no leaves, a victim of cold and wind. This maple, as seen in the insert, is protected by the green house, firs and the alder that surrounds it, keeping it warm and away from the wind. I expect that to change over night as the front comes thru. Being retired I can appreciated the colours and not worry about whether the colours will still be there on the weekend.
