I follow a Facebook page called Beautiful Table Settings. They are collectors of china, crystal, tablecloths, etc. almost a bygone era. Few in the younger generation “collect” fine china and silver. Thankful my newly married niece wanted 12 five piece place settings of china and additional matching pieces I had saved that belonged to her parents. She also took 12 pieces of hand blown stemware that coordinated. My nephew was pleased to get the real silverware that had been my parents (his grandparents). I also gave him my Dad’s Bible. And my son and daughter-in-love wanted my grandparents silverware. I’m trying to pare down my belongings. I’m so happy they wanted some family pieces. A filler photo for a day I missed.
@danette I hope they will want more in the years to come! They’ve all started their own households. But none of us are very formal... casual entertainers.
I love the story behind this. Agreed, it's lovely they want to take the pieces. Even when you're a casual entertainer, it's so nice to bring out pretty things especially if they have memories/meaning.
