This looks to be a lovely spot and the people are going about their normal activities. Has the corona virus caused very much panic - the news over here paints a grim picture of conditions in Italy. :)
@robz@lynnz@samae@stimuloog@bkbinthecity@lmsa thank you very much to all of you. Yes people go about their normal activities, although there are two so called red zones in Northern Italy (50000 people) where the coronavirus has spread from an unknown individual coming from China. The red zones are under a quarantine that should end in a week or so. However if the quarantine will continue or even be extended will depend on whether the cases will increase or not. Outside the red zones life goes on almost as usual. In areas surrounding the red areas (most of Northern Italy) the schools and Universities are closed, as are theatres and cinemas. Shops and restaurants are open but we are invited to stay at least at the distance of a meter from other people. No panic, yet. There have been 2000 infected, half of whom asymptomatic and in isolation at home. 200 in intensive care. 70 deaths, mainly older people, but not exclusively. Let’s hope for the best
We've been watching and reading the news closely and with our 365 friends in these areas, it makes it so much more personal. Chicago has its first case in hospital. Hoping for the best for you and yours, and all of us around the world. And your post dramatizes the situation well.
Glad that life is still relatively normal for you. California had its first virus related death yesterday. And the governor declared a state of emergency for administrative reasons. Stores are a little crazy and sold out of certain items. Otherwise, mostly normal.
