I posted a similar image for the cutlery challenge but didn't have a clue how to light it properly. For this one I watched a YouTube video and discovered what I was doing wrong and it turned out much better. Still not perfect, I couldn't get the wine lit properly, but it's an improvement and that's all we try to do right? Improve. By the way, no wine was wasted in the making of this image.

I like the lighting a lot but the cut off reflection…not so much. I’d like it better with the reflection cloned out or cropped off. It draws my eye out of the shot
@jgpittenger@shutterbug49@ludwigsdiana I appreciate your comments. Rather than completely remove the reflection I faded it out at the bottom. Is this better or do you still think it would be better if it was completely removed?
The rim lighting on the glass is truly mesmerizing! And like some of the others, I'm not so crazy about the partial reflection. I think the "story" here is the glass and that pulls my attention away from it, so I'd clone it out altogether. But be that as it may, it still comes down to artistic choice and what you as the artist want to do. Great shot!
My initial thought was that I would clone it out, but I think it might leave it “floating” and that could be distracting. The red and beautiful rim light is what attracts my eye.
I see great minds think alike when it comes to “red”. 😉
I didn't have the softbox to light up the wine, only an LED unit, which is why my wine isn't lit properly and why there is funny reflection in it.
