Imortelle by cherrymartina

Imortelle

When you step on the other side of our bay, on a "second shore", and get on neverending rocks and stones, first thing you experience is a strong scent of imortelle (Helichrysum italicum), that stays with you longer then a walk...

It is a very valuable herb, yet it grows like a weed here.
It's eteric oil is used in anti-wrinkle and anti aging products, and it is very expensive.
So people come here and pick flowers for destilation. Of course you need licence to pick them, and hopefully there will always be a bush overlooked in all those rocks, for us to enjoy their smell and take pictures.
Interesting information. It is a wonder anything can grow in this harsh environment
