John arrived home from work early today, and went into the garden with his camera while there was still some late afternoon light. I put the 105mm macro lens on my Nikon and joined him. The red camellia bush is covered with buds now.
Well you have cleared up a question I had whilst I NZ nz this last few weeks. Where the flowers & buds I saw in gardens Camelias. They looked like them but wrong time of year. Ours flower in the early Spring so why are yours flowering in winter? Second flowers are is it just the weather right for them at this time of year? I never got chance to ask anyone.
Camellias are at their best in NZ in late winter. They cheer up the grey days remarkably.
