Mark and I leave for Myrtle Beach in the morning and I'm soooo ready for a vacation. We go to the same hotel, walk the same beach, and usually eat at the same restaurants. What can I say? We're creatures of habit and we know what we like.
There's not many shells on the beach where we stay so when we were there last year I saw in a brochure that there was an abundance of shells at a beach area north of us. I asked Mark to take me there.
Well, there were no shells. At all. But, as we were walking along the water's edge I spotted this gold ring, glistening in the sand. I scooped it up, before another wave came in, and put it right on my finger. All the diamonds were in tact and it fit me perfectly! How about that luck?
Anyway, I'm hoping to find more treasure this time. If not, maybe I'll see a beautiful sunset, or a gorgeous sunrise.....which, to me, are priceless.
I'm not sure if I'll post any pictures while I'm gone. If not, I hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day weekend and I'll see you when I get back!
Cindy, how amazing you were able to find a diamond ring. That beats shells any day ;-) I love all the work you put into this creative shot. Have a wonderful vacation. I'm ready in one month for our 4-day trip to Redington Shores (Gulf coast of FL). My husband and I used to do the same thing as you're doing (same restaurants, beach, hotel) only in Longboat Key, Florida....we did that every year of our marriage until around 2004. I miss it so much, but they don't allow dogs at the place we used to stay nor any where else in that area.
I have gone to Myrtle Beach every summer for more than 40 years, I find peace in the familiarity. Hope you make it to Brookgreen Gardens! Love your story and your processing is amazing!
Beautiful capture and what a great find!! Plus it fit .... you were meant to "rescue" that. Enjoy yourselves again ... look forward to seeing your great photos. :)
Wonderful capture & story! I have missed you while I've been away & now I am super excited to see & hear the stories of your trip. Hope you are having a wonderful time :)
I've read stories of Myrtle Beach. It's great to love a place so much that you want to go back all the time! I think I'll have to put your ring story into my Mr Man stories!
