Bamboo version of crop circles. Or it laid against a fence while it was growing. Or little aliens will hatch out when you least expect it!
September 25th, 2013
A wonderful close up, great detail!

Don't know but it makes a great shot. Love the pattern.

Looks like a fungal type of growth. Odd but fascinating.

Could be this one:

Oedema
Oedema is a physiological disease that results from excessive water intake. The lucky bamboo becomes infected with oedema when its roots take in more water than it is able to process. The infected plant will experience small blisters on its foliage which results from the pressure of the excess water. As the disease progresses, the small blisters develop into hard, tan-colored bumps and the foliage becomes discolored and droopy. Severely infected bamboo will die from the disease. Oedema is easily controlled by reducing the amount of water that is provided to the lucky bamboo. This is no chemical control for this disease and severely infected lucky bamboo should be discarded, according to Cornell University's Plant Disease Diagnostic Clinic.

@swguevin thanks a lot Sheila, it could be too much water...weather has been humid and I did put water ! But the strange thing is that there was only 3 leaves like that... Just in case I'm going to make them follow a special diet : dry diet ! Thanks again for the article ;)
September 25th, 2013
@angeliquenordal I did some "googlings" but didn't find anything, it seems that Sheila has found something, I'm gonna follow her advice and no water during few days... Hope it's not raining again;)
Love this community , thanks ladies @swguevin @angeliquenordal
September 25th, 2013
@houdiniem intriguing isn't it ?!
@sugarmuser thanks Sharon
September 25th, 2013
It makes a great photo whatever it is. Sheila's answer seems very likely.

September 25th, 2013
Nice find
September 25th, 2013
@ziggy77 it like an elf wanted to play with me ;)
September 25th, 2013
Would you mind if I sent your photo to a scientist friend of mine? I am still so curious and he is so practical and I am not always practical...sometimes there is not an explanation.
September 26th, 2013
beautiful color and texture ...!!
September 26th, 2013
Great texture here. I have no idea what made those little bumps appear in a diamond pattern.
September 26th, 2013
@angeliquenordal yes of course. Do, I still have this little mystery in my mind ;)
I just have to update my informations :The bamboo leaves that were like that (they were 3) were on the top of the same stick, I pick up one to photograph it and let the 2others.
This morning I wanted to check if it hadn't infect the others and I saw that the 2 who had the same patterns were completly fold ( they look like mini spring rolls ), I think there are bugs inside. I didn't dare to unfold the leaves : I hate insects !
Could it be possible that tiny bug could do such regular patterns ?
September 26th, 2013
@friend2303 @tristansmum thank you, it's going to be an enigma ...... ;)
September 26th, 2013
aliens? =)))) cool texture =)))
September 27th, 2013
Really cool colours and textures.
September 27th, 2013
Nice, and what a mystirious patern!
September 29th, 2013
@mariyakey @edie @maaikel so the enigma is still not solved !!!
September 29th, 2013
@mijade aurais-tu une idée ? J'ai pensé à toi en tant que botaniste ;)
September 30th, 2013
