Practising Bokeh

So it's week 3 on my photography course & this week's homework is bokeh (I discovered that it means 'blur' in Japanese). I had a lightbulb moment whilst experimenting!

Fab stuff. What do you do to get this effect? Just focus on the lightbulb? Are the lights fairy lights?

Thank you! Yes @jsmjomo using aperture priority mode & get aperture on low setting (this was 2.8) then try to focus just on the foreground object. Yes fairy lights. Going to buy some more colours today & practice a bit more! Really pleased with this!!!
