Yippee, I caught it!! The clouds were quite thick but because of this I was able to get a photo without a filter. This was what we saw around 9.35 am in the North East of the U.K. We were left with a smile, further north it reached 98% totality but I was quite happy I managed a photo. The cloud cover obliterated it altogether a few minutes later.

Fabulous shot Margaret! We had really bright sunshine so it was almost impossible to get a decent shot without the right gear (which I didn't have with me at the time). Never mind, I can enjoy photos taken by everyone else.
Brilliantly captured- so good you had some cloud cover so you could get the image without a filter. A BIG fav (and a fair bit of envy too from here in NZ!)
