this little koala walked across our garden to get to one of his favourite gum trees. Once in a comfortable position he proceeded to enjoy his meal of fresh young leaves
@golder365mjsmith no they are not tame. They have very sharp claws and you would not want to pick one up. There are gentle relaxed ones, in our wildlife sanctuaries, that are used to being held under supervision of the park rangers and the tourists love the experience. In times of extreme heat and bushfires they will allow you to go close to then to provide water. They come very close to our house
@bonsai thanks for the fav Shirley. We love to see them and in the breeding season they often walk across from one tree to another but are usually very high in the trees
I can only imagine the complete joy it must be to have a koala meander through your yard and then make himself comfortable in a nearby tree! Wonder collection of pictures of him enjoying lunch.
@lyndemc thankyou Denise. It never ceases to give us great excitement when we see one of this lovely creatures. Yesterday as I was driving home along a busy main road the cars had to stop for a koala that was slowly crossing the road.
@golder365mjsmith they are not tame at all
If anyone sees a koala on the ground and can approach it, they have found a very sick koala and need to get it to care urgently
They sure look like you should be able to pick them up for a good cuddle tho!
