a work in progress

I just took this photo as a record of the great work our local council is doing to restore our waterways. They have removed old wild olives and fruit trees and replaced them with natives so the creek will provide a habitat for wildlife.
Love to see this kind of work

I remember you talking about the removal of the olive trees along the waterways and your concern about what the birds would eat. It looks like genuine efforts are being made here to beautify the place for the future. Thanks for sharing the progress.

A will make a huge difference. I have seen at home what happened when they did that, and it is amazing how the natural life comes back.

Terrific - I am spending time in Taranaki and I'm impressed with all the stream plantings going on down that way.

thanks for commenting. I shall keep you posted on how quickly these plantings take off. The whole area is looking better already and I am sure those of us who were sad to see the old fruit trees go will appreciate our new healthy waterway.
