People keep saying they are common bird, but I really like their bright colour around the eyes.

Good shot! Like Ferry has said, most birds are singing to mark their territory- but no matter what the reason we still enjoy the music! Blackbirds here are field birds and I love their song but since I live in the middle of the woods now, I don't get to hear them as much.
