Such a gorgeous bird. I love the respect shown by just showing his beauty and not his death state. He found a good final resting place in your garden. Is this a lorikeet?

How poignant when Beauty dies... It's a curiosity that we (well, I) never see birds on the ground. There can't be that many predators everywhere that they should disappear so easily. It would be heartbreaking to me to see one like this at life's end.

@Weezilou it is always sad to see a bird like this. We often see magpies on the road. The silly birds play "chicken" with the cars and sometimes dont make it

@peggysirk yes, I think it is a Rainbow Lorikeet. There are many in the trees enjoying the gum blossom
