the tree loppers were working down our street yesterday preparing for summer by trimming any trees that were too close to power lines. They can be a dangerous bushfire hazard on very hot, dry and windy days. Although I took this pic from inside the house I am sure he spotted me.

Our powerlines are digged in the ground. Only High Voltage lines from the power plant trough the country are in the air.
yes we are rather behind the times with all those power lines above ground - as I live rural nearly every storm sees some blown down ... great action shot, it's dangerous work these guys do

thanks everyone. Our newer housing developments have underground power but the workmen are kept very busy preparing for Summer up our way where there are many trees lining the roads or reaching out from people's gardens
