the Wattle is Australia's National Floral Emblem and they are blooming all around us at the moment. Soldiers overseas in World War 1 were sent sprigs of Wattle to remind them of home and it's green and gold are our national colours.
Well that's just fabulous! I will drop a note to my Aussie friends and wish them the same! I truly adore that gorgeous tree, and was so delighted to find one in a nursery garden (of some large size) up near my daughter's home north of us. Now I want a sprig for a vase, but perhaps north of the equator it's no longer in season!
