ancient and modern

this is the reconstructed gate through the wall into what was the ancient Roman Fort of Mancuniom (A.D. 79) which is in the city of Manchester, U.K. Much of the of the fort was demolished during the Industrial Revolution but some remains of the wall have been reconstructed and are now part of a heritage park.
