passed through many kilometres of burnt bush alongside the road from Melbourne to Adelaide. Thanks to the volunteer Country Fire Service no homes or lives were lost here. It will take some good rainfalls to start the green shoots growing.
@april341 It is very sad to see all the trees and grass burned and to know that many animals have lost their habitat if not their lives. Some of our native plants need fire however to burst open their very hard seed pods. So the heart is always there in the bushland and it will regenerate even though it sometimes takes a very long time.
