did my 5 hour volunteer shift in the library today, most of that time in the toy library. one of my jobs (not finished yet) was to mark every piece in this board game with its reference number. The whole 326 bits of it! (instructions, cards, counters etc.) I'll be reciting the number in my head for days after I finish it.
@kanelipulla to tell you the truth I havnt had a chance to look at how you play it. when we get a new game for the toy library it has to be catalogued , electronically tagged then the box covered with contact plastic and every little piece numbered. when I finish it I'll check it out. if i'm not sick to death of it lol
To me it seems to be very monotonous to the same thing over and over again. But it must be satisfying since it is voluntary work. I haven't seen that game yet in Malta. Lovely shot.
@naomima thankyou Naomi. I shall do more numbering when I am there next week. quite tedious so I mix it up with other jobs. there is so much to do in a library. I love books so I am in my element
@kiwiniknak@deu49097 I love working in the library too. It seems to fit with all the sorts of things I like to do such as reading, being with children and sorting out stuff. Having spent my working life in offices and then later in a school for severley disabled children I never expected to end up in a library. I am pleased to be able to still use my skills.
@gigiflower yep! every piece (even Lego) is marked with the Toy Library numbering system. that way we keep track of everything. lots of other fund things to do though
@sangwann I love my work in the library. Meeting people and being useful and of course all the wonderful books that surround me. Our library is very vibrant place.
