my first attempt at capturing these Galahs down on our local oval. They work in teams of 30 or more, digging in the ground for beetles. I need more practise. I found it hard to keep my camera still enough.
@gigiflower thankyou Sam for your positive support. It spurs me on to keep trying. I love Galahs and these ones here are so used to people and dogs walking nearby they dont move till you are fairly close
@teiko thankyou Emilie for your positive comment. No I didnt take my tripod this time. I always feel glued to one spot when I use it but will take it next time and see how it improves things.
@nefrit We have lots of wonderful parrots around us here but they are hard to see up high in the trees. They love gum blossom. Thanks for your positive feedback. I think a collage works well when you want to show different aspects of your subject.
@naomima thankyou for your lovely positive comments. galahs are Australian native birds. We have many parrots here but its the galahs that like to peck at the grass for bugs. the others live high in the gum strees
@padders thanks Luke. I love Galahs. we had a pet one when I was little but I really think they deserve to be free. they are such a lovely pink and grey.
